Claude Monet
(1840-1926) is often known as the father of Impressionism. Monet's
style of soft, often pastel paintings were studies in light and
color. Monet often painted the same scene at different times of
the day as well as different times of the year. He is known for is
famous paintings of Waterlou Bridge, Waterlilies, his wife, and his
garden at Giverney.
