Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890)
always wanted to be a painter, however he never sold a painting in his
career. He studied impressionism in Paris, France. Later he moved to the
south of France to paint when he could not make a living from his
work. His brother, an art dealer, helped Van Gogh out many times by
buying his paintings. Van Gogh is known for his painting with
bright colors. Many of his paintings are of the landscape where he
lived as well as self-portraits of himself. He is also known for
his sunflower paintings and cypress trees.
