Grading

All students are expected to do their best on all assignments.

· 40% of final grade=Daily grades (classwork, homework, and quizzes)

· 30% of final grade=Tests

· 15% of final grade= Independent reading

· 15% of final grade=Independent writing

Students will maintain TWO notebooks:

· Students will keep a Writer's Notebook for their writing pieces.

· Learning logs will be kept in a spiral notebook and will receive a  daily grade.  Learning logs are provided and MUST be kept in the classroom.

· Students will receive a list of 12 vocabulary words  every two weeks and will have a test every other Thursday.

· Late work will NOT be accepted, but extra credit assignments will be offered during the grading period.
