Olympic Flag Art Display

On December 17, 2001, the Olympic torch was lit at Cardinal Valley Elementary School. In preparation for this exciting event, each class chose a country to research. The students discovered general facts about their country. They then studied the flag that represented their country using the elements and principles of art. By incorporating these vocabulary terms into a fun game, students learned to use these words to describe each country's flag. Large flags were painted in small groups, while some classes made individual flags.
