Symmetrical Design

When students in art class began their studies on quilting, we discussed Early American Quilting Bees and how women joined efforts to create beautiful quilts. A variety of quilting patterns were displayed. From these detailed designs, students learned the definition of symmetry. They learned that when things are symmetrical, they are the same on each side. Symmetrical designs are balanced and equal.
