About Mr.Durham...
I grew up in southern Kentucky (Lincoln County), and I am proud to have received all of my education in the state of Kentucky. I hold a B.A. in mathematics, a B.A. in history (each from Centre College in Danville), and an M.S. in mathematics education (from the University of Kentucky). I have also completed approximately 50 hours of graduate-level mathematics coursework along with a similar number of hours of graduate-level education classes. I have considerable support coursework in both special education and gifted education. I currently hold National Board Certification, the highest level of certification for teachers, in the area of mathematics (early adolescent).
I have worked in public and private education, at grade levels from elementary to collegiate, since 1990. I have been teaching in Fayette County Public Schools since 1998, teaching at Henry Clay High School and Leestown Middle School before joining L.T.M.S. in 2006. In addition, I occasionally teach summer or evening mathematics classes at the University of Kentucky. I am actively involved in several professional organizations, notably the Kentucky Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and I have served on several committees for the Kentucky Department of Education.
