Connecting Precalculus and Geometry with Cabri™ Jr. In this session we will use Cabri Jr. to create the conic sections and find an equation for the conic created. The general equation of a conic section is Ax^2 + Bxy + Cy^2+ Dx + Ey + F = 0. We will use linear algebra and the programming capabilities of the TI-84 to solve complex matrices that will give us the equation of a conic section through five points. Familiarity with Cabri Jr. will be assumed, but not required. April 28, 2007 T3 Regional Conference, Rhodes College, Lima, OH
Connecting Linear Algebra, Pre-calculus and Geometry with Cabri™ Jr. In this session, we will use Cabri™ Jr. to explore conic sections and the connections between Pre-calculus and Geometry using Linear Algebra.
