1. If you have a change of address, etc: Please send me a note, if you have a change of address, phone number, work number or even babysitter, during the school year. Please send a note if there is to be a change (even for 1 day) in the way your child is to go home or who is picking up your child. IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT TO RIDE THE BUS HOME, EVEN FOR ONE DAY, PLEASE SEND A NOTE OR CALL. Without a written note with the date on it) or a phone call, we will send your child home on the bus. Unfortunately, we cannot let your child stay behind without a note. 2. Medicine: If your child must take medicine prescribed by a doctor, you will need to deliver the medicine in a prescription bottle and fill out a form obtained from the school office. Only office personnel may give medication. 3. Snack: We will have a light snack each day. I will send home a monthly snack list. If you have more than 2 items for us to pass out, please send the items in a small baggie for each child (popcorn, pretzels, chips, crackers, etc.) DO NOT SEND BEVERAGES, small pkgs. of gummies or fruit rollups. 4. Goodie Box: Please send small toys ( ex: McDonald's Happy Meal toys - new or used, party favors, pencils, play jewelry, cars) so we can re-stock our goodie box. Our goodie box is crucial to the success of our classroom discipline plan. 5. Volunteers: Parents and grandparents are always welcome! Some may want to directly with the children or prefer to prepare materials for the class at home. All volunteers must have a security check before they are allowed to work in the classroom. 6. Attendance: If your child misses school, a note should be sent to school stating the dates he/she was absent and the reason for the absence. A child is considered tardy, if they enter the building after the school bell rings or they leave school. 7. Birthdays: On the snack calendar schedule, I try to select a day closest to your child's birthday so you may send a special treat for the class, if you wish. PLEASE DO NOT SEND A CAKE OR COOKIE WHICH MUST BE CUT UP OR SLICED. DO NOT SEND DRINKS. A few ideas for birthday snacks: cupcakes, cookies, ice cream already in cups, pizza. 8. Homework: No homework will be assigned during weeks with less than 5 school days. Otherwise, homework will be assigned on Monday and will be due on Friday. Upon completion, your child is to put his/her homework in the "mailbox" located in our classroom. 9. Money or Notes Sent to School: must be put in a clear baggie. NO ENVELOPES, please. 10. Please check your child's backpack daily for notes sent home from school. 11. Have your child keep a sweater in their backpack at all times, since our room temperature varies so much.
