In math class, your child will be participating in an activity called "Minuto Loco". Mad Minute tests are sheets with sixty single digit addition, subtraction, or multiplication problems. Students will have 2.5 minutes to complete the Mad Minute test.

I will send home a Mad Minute practice sheet. If your child has not memorized addition and subtraction facts, they need to practice these facts daily. I would like parents to drill their child at home every day. You can easily practice the facts orally in the car, while you fix dinner, or anytime you have a minute with your child.

My goal is that all my students learn (memorize) all the basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts by the end of the third grade. The more you practice with them, the faster they will reach this goal.
