"Here's a brief description of each of the curriculum document:
"Academic Expectations
The expectations for students are set forth as the six learning goals of KERA. These goals led to the development of the academic expectations that characterize student achievement of the goals. All Kentucky students are expected to achieve the goals and academic expectations.
Program of Studies
The Program of Studies for Kentucky Schools Grades Primary-12 helps ensure that all students across the commonwealth are provided with common content and have opportunities to learn at a high level.
The purpose of the Program of Studies is to outline the minimum content required for all students before graduating from Kentucky high schools. The Program of Studies specifies only the content for the required credits for high school graduation and primary, intermediate, and middle level programs leading up to these requirements.
The content is based on Kentucky's learning goals, academic expectations, and input from professional organizations, teachers, and administrators.
Core Content for Assessment
Core Content for Assessment - version 3.0, September 1999, represents the content that has been identified as essential for all students to know and represents the content on the state assessment. This content is designed for use with, not instead of, Kentucky's Academic Expectations and Program of Studies to provide the focus for the development of the Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT)."
