Welcome back!

We are jumping right back into things in the art room and will be working in the third dimension, first with clay and then with papier-mâché sculptures.  Please plan on some messy art days during the month on January.

In February we will begin our third annual Arts Enrichment Program.  It runs from Feb. 12^th through March 20^th with the Arts Night Showcase on March 27^th and Arts Day on March 28^th.  This program offers classes in visual arts, music, dance, and drama to our 2^nd through 5^th graders.  These classes are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:45-3:45 so be sure to look for the brochure and sign up quickly for the classes your children would like to participate in. 

We are still looking for volunteers to help us during this time, so if you are interested and available any of the days mentioned above, please drop me a note miah.confer@fayette.kyschools.us.  We are also interested in offering a parent taught K/1 art or music class so that these students can also participate but we can only do that if we get volunteers so let me know if this is something you can help with.

Kentucky School Nutrition Association Art Contest!

·        Entries need to be the student’s original drawing on 8 ½ by 11 unlined white paper.

·        Entries need to fulfill the theme

 “HEALTHY CHOICES TO WIN!”

and have that slogan written on them.

·        Entries need to be colorful so they can be reproduced on note cards and T-shirts.

·        Entries are due by Feb.12^th
