BEHAVIOR SYSTEM

Our rules and routines are posted, discussed, reviewed and practiced to ensure that the children have a clear understanding of behavioral expectations within our classroom community. We use a token system as extra motivation. Students earn tokens for positive behavior and accomplishments. Students pay tokens as consequences to inappropriate behaviors. The students have opportunities to spend tokens. We also have a special token auction in December and May.

Our classroom rules are:

Be Respectful

I will be respectful through my words, actions, tone of voice and body language. When I am respectful I treat others the way that I want to be treated. I am respectful when I share, take turns, use kind words, keep my hands and feet to myself, and help others.

 Be Responsible

I will be responsible by doing the things I know I am supposed to do. In class, I am responsible when I listen, pay attention, follow directions, put things away and do my work carefully. I am responsible when I do my homework and turn it in on time. I am responsible when I use healthy habits like covering my cough, using a tissue and washing my hands. I make choices which are best for my classmates and me.

Use Self Control

I use self control when I think before I act. I will use self control by making choices that are best for my classmates and me, even though I may be excited, angry or upset. When I use self-control I keep myself and others safe.

Do Your Best

I will always do my best. I am doing my best when I write neatly, take my time and check my work.  I will listen carefully and ask questions if I don’t understand.  I will keep trying even when work may be challenging.
