Homework for Friday 11/20/09
Ms. Michaels: Language Arts:
In Ms. Michaels class the students continued to work on developing colorful characters. The students need to study lesson 11 vocabulary words for test on Monday.
Ms. Hyde: Language Arts:
In class: we took the spelling/vocabulary quiz. Read the short story, Miss. Awful and compared it to the story Charles that we read yesterday. We began working on the ‘appetizer’ portion of our Novel Project. Appetizer is due Tuesday.
HW: Continue working on Appetizer from your Novel.
Mr. Railey: Social Studies:
In Social Studies student learned about the effects that geography had on Greece. No Homework
Ms. Griffis: Science: Today in class students took notes and completed discussion questions on Continental drift. No homework EXCEPT to study for test Tuesday. Students received study guides for test yesterday.
Ms. Caton: Math:All Classes…ORQ in class, no homework
Homework for Thursday 11/19/09
Ms. Michaels: Language Arts:
In Ms. Michaels room the student began to learn how to fully develop characters. Students also received a handout about their new project, which is due December 15 covering the book they chose to read during this nine week period.
Ms. Hyde: Language Arts:
In class: We read a short story called Charles, and discussed characterization of static and dynamic characters.
HW: Study for your vocabulary/spelling test tomorrow. Also, we will be having a quiz over the chosen novel on Monday.
Mr. Railey: Social Studies:
In Social Studies students took a quiz on Israelites and review questions for Egypt test. In 3rd hour student corrected Egypt test.
Homework: 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th hour Greek Vocabulary WS
Ms. Griffis: Science: Today in class students did a paired activity on continental drift and completed a graphic organizer. No homework tonight.

Today in class students organized their binders, cleaned out lockers and the last hour took a school survey.
Ms. Hyde: Language Arts:
Students went to the library today. Remember if you have a late book, turn it in so that you can check out next time. They discussed vocabulary and spelling.
Mr. Railey: Social Studies:
Students read and answered an Open Response Question in class.
Ms. Griffis: Science:
Students read pages 28-32 in the Science books. They worked on page 21 and for homework tonight they had page 25 to do.

Homework for Tuesday 11/17/09
Ms. Michaels: Language Arts:
In Ms. Michaels class today the students took lesson 10 spelling and vocabulary enrichment quizzes. Students also went to the library and committed to reading one book for the second nine week period. Students read the myth “The Origin of the Seasons” aloud in class today and finished a comprehension test. Homework for tonight is to complete lesson 10 vocabulary reading comprehension quiz.

In Social Studies students compared Ancient Judaism to today. 3rd hour took Egyptian multiple choice test
Homework: 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th pg. 85 1, 3 and pg 102 1,5; 3rd hour study for ORQ tomorrow.
Ms. Griffis: Science: Today in class 2nd,3rd, & 5th periods took a quiz over heat transfer and completed page 21 review & reinforce. 6th & 7th periods took notes & reviewed heat transfer. They have a quiz tomorrow.

Homework for Monday 11/16/09
Ms. Michaels: Language Arts:
In Ms. Michaels class the students were able to identify and summarize a plot. In addition the students learned how to string events together in a story. Tonight students need to study spelling and vocabulary for test tomorrow.
I Ms. Hyde: Language Arts:
In class: We learned about Novellas and compared these with Novels by creating a Venn Diagram. We also discussed and looked at pictures of The Great Depression in preparation of our Novella we will read tomorrow, Song of the Trees.
HW: Vocab homework due Wednesday. Students have the option to create 10 flashcards or make 2 posters.
I I Mr. Railey: Social Studies: No homework tonight, except 3rd hour study for test tomorrow.
Ms. Griffis: Science: Today in class, students did a webquest on heat transfer. Homework: Study for Heat Transfer quiz on Tuesday.

5th: working on Inequalities packet in class.
7th: Complete Practice Test for Chapter 8
