ELECTRON CONFIGURATIONS

This unit deals with the electron and its properties. Bonding, properties, and chemistry of elements takes place between the electrons. This unit introduces the electron and how they are involved.

What I've done on this page is linked the topics to the actual PowerPoint Presentation that I used in class. To access them just click on the link to the topic and follow the directions to access the presentations. If you don't have PowerPoint on your computer you need to download the PowerPoint Viewer that is available for free through Microsoft Office.

THE ELECTRON PART 1	.ppt	This PowerPoint goes into the dual nature of light and electrons, and introduces one of the more complex concepts we will learn...quantized energy.
THE ELECTRON PART 2	.ppt	This set of slides deals with the quantum mechanical model of the atom and how we begin to map out the volume around the atom that an electron is located.
THE ELECTRON PART 2 GEN	.ppt	This is basically the same set as the above slides, but with the exception of the quantum number sets for the first 10 atoms, and some additional information on Heisenberg and the Quantum Mechanical Model.
