Behavioral Syllabus
Mr. Weaver
2007-2008

Entering the classroom:

  •  Students are expected to be in their assigned seats ready to work (book, paper, notebook, and sharpened pencil out) when the bell rings.  

  • Backpacks are to be stowed under your chair.

  • If you enter the class late, place your excuse note on my overhead table and quietly take a seat.

  • Students out of their seats and/or unprepared will lose class participation points.    

Assignments/Late Work

  • Homework assignments will be posted in the classroom and on my Lafayette Homepage.  You are responsible for getting assignments after an absence.

  • Assignments must be completed in accordance with the board policy timeline to receive credit.

Independent seatwork

  • Students must remain in their assigned seats

  • Students are expected to work on the assignments made in class.

  • Students may discuss the assignment with the persons seated next to them. If you need help, raise your hand.

  • Students not working on the assignment will lose class participation points.

Ending class

  • Remain in your assigned seat until dismissed by the teacher.

  • Push in your chair and pick up all the trash before leaving the classroom.

Class Rules

  • All work must be done in pencil.  Points will be deducted if a pencil is not used.

  • Pencils may be sharpened before class and during seat or group work.

  • You will be allowed six hall passes per semester.  You may not use a hall pass during the presentation of the lesson, the last ten minutes of class, or if there is a substitute teacher.  Hall pass privileges may be revoked.

  • Show respect and courtesy to fellow students, the teacher, administrators, substitute teachers, and any other visitors to our classroom.  Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

Consequences of Inappropriate Behavior

Your failure to abide by this syllabus of conduct will lead to the following disciplinary action(s), depending on the severity of the infraction:
a. Verbal or written warning
b. Student-teacher conference
c Call home to your parent(s)
d. Teacher Detention
e. Office referral.
f. Loss of class participation points
