The sky

By: Abby, 7th grade

I’ve never looked at the sky till now. It is amazing. It is beautiful. It’s priceless. I looked over to Tyler. “Thank you.” I said to myself. Then I looked into his eyes and smiled. We had been together for two years and I was beginning to think I was falling in love.

Love was thought to be the most powerful thing on earth. And I had dreamed about it ever since I was three. I was always very afraid of love. When I was young my parents used to look at each other with passion until one day when I was five they split. I haven’t seen my father since.

“Do you love me?” I asked then he looked at me and sat up from the blanket which we were laying on.

“Umm…I don’t know how to say this but I…”

            “What?”

“Well, I’m braking up with you.”

            “What? Why?”

“Well I’m in love with Savannah.”

            “You mean my best friend?”

“Yah. We have been seeing each other for six months.” I broke down into tears. Not wanting him to win I ran to Savannah’s house.

            “KNOCK, KNOCK!”

“Who is there?” she called back. So before she could answer the door I dropped a note and ran. I had already had this note because I dreamed about this more than once and decided to write it down. It cleared my head at the time. That dream was considered a nightmare and it was the only way I could get all that anger out of my system.

I jumped behind the bushes that were in front of her house and carefully watched/listened to her. As I watched her read the letter I popped out of the bushes and her head turned to look at me. With streams of tears running down her face she ran t give me a hug. At that moment I realized that friends are forever and boyfriends come and go.

When she let go I forgave her and she broke up with Tyler. We ran under the tree with the leaves falling around us and talked for hours…
