LampLight

A dog, a BLOND Labrador to be exact, was the oddball of the litter.  Because his blond coat was like no other, he was teased, taunted, and all other cruelties that can be “justified” by the color of your coat of skin color and he was nice to cats and mice.  Yet he was braver than the rest for when a fox came prowling around he ran towards it, yapping like a mad beast.    Another show of his bravery was when the new baby had just been born a large rat had tried to eat the baby when he leapt in and tore the rat to pieces.

                        8 YEARS LATER

On their late-night walk Lamp Light and his owner, John Smithy, stopped underneath a streetlight and marveled at his brilliantly glittering coat.  Lampy turned to look at John with his sad, doleful eyes that were full of that friendly courage that had shown in his eyes since the time of his birth.  After that short stall they continued around their normal route.  As they were walking, a car turned the bend. Lampy, immediately noticed the man was drunk.  He turned towards them and hit Lamplight.
