Lost

By:  Aidan, 5th grade

Love is lost

Until it has been found

For what is love

Except a fleeting feeling

 Of brightening emotion

Yet only exists

To cause those among us pain

For what is love

But a cruel mistress

Of broken hearts

And lost souls

Of those who have fallen

Into love’s cold, hard embrace

Many are those

Who thought they had found

The one

Yet find themselves shoved away, like an ancient toy

Lost behind a shelf

For all eternity

For what is love

But to

Cause ourselves to lose ourselves

In the darkness of pain and anger

The ways of darkness

Children of

Madness

Those of us who have loved

Shall glorify in

The darkness that

Takes all

You who have loved,

You in great pain,

You must fear the darkness

Yet not become a lover

And cause yourself

The pain of a thousand suns

Once again.
