Problem Story By: Aidan, 6th grade
“Ms. Wylf?” Kap stood, his hand raise high in the air, with confused and sullen features set in his face. He had short, blond hair, and a reputation for finding problems in everything. “Yes, Kap?” Ms. Wylf sighed, for even the teachers got tired of Kap’s constant complaints. “I have found a racial slur, Ms. Wylf, pertaining to African-Americans.” He pronounced, his voice etched with pompousness and disgust. The class turned around to stare at the boy, with unrestrained contempt in their eyes. They glared at him, silently fuming. Ms. Wylf sighed, and straightened up. “Kap, the young boy merely says the word negro, not pertaining to blacks, but to the Spanish word for black.” “But…” Kap said, his face in abject disappointment. |
