Fact or Fiction?

When I was 5 I went to my dad’s house a lot over the weekend. My dad, brother, and I would always go out to eat together. One night, my dad and stepmom let me pick where we went to eat. So I picked Kids Zone, this is because I was only 5. It had been storming all night, but it was just rain so I wasn’t scared. When the rain was getting harder we had already ate. My family and I were about to leave until all of the workers came out and told everyone to stay in the building and not leave. I was wondering why we couldn’t leave. My dad went over to the checkout and asked them why no one could leave. The lady turned on the news and told us to see for ourselves.

The news said in big letters on the side of the screen, TORNADO WARNING. I was about to cry, but just then the staff made everyone get in the giant freezer room because it was the safest place in the building. I thought I was going to freeze when I got in the room. I was huddled up to my dad worrying about what was going to happen to us. I wanted to call my mom and my sister to check on them and make sure they were safe. The staff finally came in with a big blanket for all of the families in the room. When the blanket lay across my lap I quickly dove my head under and wrapped my arms around my dad and squeezed him tight.

I felt my dads phone vibrate and I reached it up to him. He said it was my mom. I was relieved about that but I was still scared about the storm. My dad handed me the phone and said she wanted to talk to me. She said that her and my sister were in target shopping when they heard the news. She had also told me that the tornado had past over and we were safe. My dad took my brother Lewis and I home, when I saw my mom as I was getting out of the car, I ran as fast as I could towards her and jumped into her arms. That was the scariest night of my life.
