My summer By: Ana, 7th grade At the beginning of the summer, it wasn’t so stressful. The only thing that I had to do was read. It was the start of a peaceful summer. Until I had to go to dance practice every morning for about 7 hours…… so much for a peaceful summer. I was wondering why I was so busy with dance, but then I remembered, I have nationals in about a week. Nationals are like the finale dance competition for about the whole studio, and this year there in Chicago! So I practiced until practically the day we left. Finally the day came for me to dance. I didn’t do my best, but I did good. When we hit the last of nationals, I realized that the day after we get home, I have to leave on a plane with my grandma to Washington D.C. the day before I went to my next nationals in D.C, my mom took me shopping and to get my nails done. Apparently this national is a big deal.
It was very sad when the time came for me to get on a plane and say goodbye to my mom. The only reason it was really sad was because my mom and I had never been away from each other for that long. As soon as I got on the plane I felt like I was going to be sick, partly because I was excited, and partly because I’m afraid of planes. At the beginning of the ride I was scared out of my mind because we had to go at like lightning speed just to take off, and once we got off the ground there was a bump. Also, my ears kept popping and unpopping. I finally went to sleep until we landed and there was a big bump. Once we got off the plane and got to the hotel I was really excited. Although, when we finally settled into our room, I had to go right to rehearsal. That whole week was rehearsal. The only time there was no rehearsal, was on the last day which was the actual competition. Finally the competition was over and I got to get back on the plane and go home. When my dad, April, and I got home, (well actually we stopped at the ER because my dad had to pick up the work he had missed and April was pucking her guts out all trip for 5 days straight) but after we got back from the hospital, we went swimming.
About 1 month after we got back we left for Destin, Fl. It was my dad and April who took my sisters, brothers, and me to the beach. I was so bored on the 14 hour trip, but once we got to are house, I was so excited. It was kind of weird how we gained an hour when we got there, but I got used to it. The first thing we did every morning was go swimming or walk down to the beach, then every night we have a cook out or go out to eat. Sadly, the week went by really fast and it was already over.
By the time we got back, it was 4 in the morning so we couldn’t do anything but go to sleep. And that was my summer. The End
