Stolen
By: Bay, 6th grade
Someone has stolen my heart. I don’t know his name, where he lives, or anything about him. I saw him the other day, while in the park. I was up in a tree, looking to the sky, when I saw him. He had a dark brown head of hair, and was wearing a bright red shirt. I gave a small gasp as he wandered by, my heart was pounding. After he left, I was left with no breath. He had seemed too perfect to be true. I abandoned the tree, and began to stagger through the tall grass. I had to learn more about him, learn his name.
I explored the park, searching for that distinctive red shirt. But, I didn’t see him. That night, I crawled into my bed and heaved a large sigh. What if I never saw him again? I wouldn’t be able to live with myself, he was just too gorgeous. I fluffed my hair before closing my eyes and drifting into an uneasy sleep.
The next day, I returned to the tree in the park that I had been sitting in earlier. I scanned the area, searching for the brown haired beauty that had stolen my heart. After a few minutes of searching, I began to feel hungry. Then, I remembered that I hadn’t had any breakfast that morning. I got down from the tree and went to the nearby snack bar. I got a quick bite, and then returned to my perch. I was on the lookout for that bright red shirt. And then, I spotted him. He was not too far away, about 20 feet away from the foot of the tree. I nearly fell off the branch then and there. He had become even more breathtaking then yesterday! I rushed over to him, and shyly said hello. He smiled and returned my greeting. I asked him if he wanted to get grab a bite to eat. He agreed, and we went to the snack bar together.
After our meal, he told me that he would meet me at the tree tomorrow at the same time. I was ecstatic. I would finally be able to spend time with him! That night, I could barely sleep, I was so excited. But, after many hours, I closed my eyes and dreamt of his bright red shirt.
When I woke up in the morning, I hurried to the tree and waited. I looked around eagerly. Then, he approached. I nearly fainted. He was carrying a daisy. He gave it to me, and I blushed. He asked me if I would go out with him. I said yes, and we spent the night out at a fancy restaurant.
The babies were here. I looked over at their tiny faces, smiling. My husband hugged me, and told me how proud he was that we had children. I blushed. Everything he said made me blush. We looked at the children, watching them sleep. I put my head on his shoulder, and gave a contented sigh. He wrapped an arm around me.
I was so proud. My chicks were healthy, I was happy, and I had the best robin ever as a husband.
