TORNADO Casey, 7th grade One time many years ago something happened to me that is nearly unbelievable, but it is true, very true…
About 5 years ago, I was in my house right off of Lexington in an average town of Georgetown and it was a sunny day, everyone was happy, everything seemed fine for once in my life… until the night came. As the hours grew longer a light drizzle started up. I started watching TV. Unaware that the rain grew heavier, I was enjoying my favorite TV show of the time; the fairly odd parents. As the show came to a closing suddenly the calm sound was shattered with a loud beeping and the entire screen turned red. It said:
TORNADO WARNING IN EFFECT FOR YOUR AREA SEEK SHELTER IMEDIATELY
“Dad! What’s happening!?!” “Run, follow me!!!” he said, we got our cats, and my mom and ran to the safest room in the house, the laundry room, since we had no basement. We were hearing the TV still playing when we heard the weather man say get to shelter now. We waited for a while when suddenly the lights went out. The entire family was huddling together. Now the rain turned to hail and we could hear it pounding into the roof, then we heard our car alarm go off. Then silence, a huge roar of a train sounded followed by splintering of wood and the shattering of glass.
The hail returned, slowly turning back into rain, then back to the light drizzle that started. The time was 1:00 in the morning me and my family slowly walked outside, surprisingly all that had happened to our house was the windows on one side were shattered, and our shingles have blown off but everything was fine, except that our neibors house was completely leveled, our neibor came out of their basement and just started crying. Our cars window was also smashed and the seats was soaked, the destruction was endless …
