Stuck like a cat in a tree

One day there was a huge tree. You may hear this often but I mean this tree was huge. I often stood looking up at it knowing that I could only climb to the 1st branch. I’ve seen my relatives and friends climb it but never I. one day I look up at my dad and say, why can’t I climb the tree? My dad looks down with a slight grin and says its ‘cause you haven’t practiced. And then in my mind I had only one goal set, to climb that tree. So I practice every day going up higher and higher only one branch at a time until I found a branch which I could not find a hold. I looked upon that spot with loathing and determination to pass it. So I grabbed the branch above me and swung my feet over the bark cut my skin and I missed and hit my ankle. Owww I muttered as I found my footing on the previous branch and tried again. This time I knew that I had to lift my legs up and relax my hands I swung made it but realized my lack of forethought since I could not lift my upper body up from the strenuous  poise I was in. So I grabbed the bark and hauled my upper half up to meet my lower half. I didn’t look back, not this time. This tree was going to be climbed. I climbed higher and higher, I climbed where nobody had ever dared to go. I looked down only twice every time I was hit by a wave of nausea. The smell of wood flowed into my nostrils. Ugh a branch but my chest and stomach as I stretched against it. My legs started to fatigue as I reached the top. Yes I yelled I reached the top! I skipped my way down but as I came to the spot where I swung over I realized there was no way to swing back. Help I cried but no one came. I yelled again and again till a neighbor wondered what was happening. I yelled over here and they looked up with an arm over his eyes. The sun was blinding but somehow he was able to spot me. He looked up and yelled hey what are you doing up there I sighed knowing that my family would find out and laugh. I took a deep breath and yelled back, I’m stuck the neighbor looks down and grins he walks over to his garage to get a ladder it looked splintered and old. I questioned myself if it would hold me or not. The neighbor set the ladder up only to realize that it was too small I rolled my eyes and shouted, do you have anything bigger. No he said. He walked to my house and knocked on the door. My parents came to the door. I saw the neighbor point over to where I was. My parents laughed and nodded. The garage door opened to reveal my dad carrying a large steel ladder he set it against the tree and yelled hey climb down I put my foot on and looked down. Yup you guessed it big mistake. My leg started to shake so I jumped back. My dad gave a small laugh and said come on if you got up there you can come back down. I gulped and scampered down. My dad said, so cats aren’t the only things that get stuck in trees eh, we laughed and went inside and agreed to tell no one of me getting stuck.
