The Red Rope of a Stranger

2,000 the auctioneer’s voice rises above the crowd.  Going once going twice, tentatively a gloved hand rose from the back, it belonged to a man with a red scarf, his face was covered by it, and in fact none of his face was visible at all. 2,500 the man says in a deep tone. Going once twice sold to the man in the red scarf. The rest of the auction continued to some achievement most of the items were sold. The next day the auctioneer was found hanging with a red rope around his neck.

There appears to be a sigh of a struggle but no DNA evidence of it sorry but your case is closed Mark. The man said without displaying any emotion at all, his navy blue suit seemed to emphasize that he was a man of strictly business. I stared at the man in the blue coat for a while before I nodded and turned away. Disappointment seemed to flourish across my face I had a feeling that this was a murder case and I’ve never been wrong when I thought it was murder.

It was a cool walk, the wind whipped across my face. I wondered about how I was going to break it to the family.  I then lost myself in questions as I walked and before long I arrived at there house. It was a well off family judging from the house and how much they paid me. The windows were gothic style and did not fit the rest of the house. Ivy was growing ramped on a side of there house that had climbed to the top. They also had a garden which had many ripe and unpicked fruits and vegetables. I reached up to touch the door bell but the door creaked open. Ok….. Hey is anyone there I called? My voice echoed in the seemingly empty house.  I looked around  and there was the family, asleep. I  woke them up grinned and said the case is closed. I pulled out a shaving razor and killed them all. I wrapped a red rope around the mother and put the razor in her hand. My secret will stay forever as it died with them.
