    SCIENCE  SHORT  STORY
1 Select a topic from below and write a short story about that topic.
2 RESEARCH YOUR TOPIC! Use the internet or any source of information available to take notes
on your topic. These research notes need to be well organized and on your own sheet of notebook
paper. This will be collected and count as part of your grade.
3 The story must be believable and include real events that would happen.
4 You will need to use your research so you know your story could be real and is believable.
5 The story must be written by you in your own words and not copied from a book or movie.
6 The story must be a minimum of 5 hand written pages or 3 typed pages.
7 You must have a rough draft with corrections and a final draft.
8 The story must include how changes occur to the weather patterns, climate and environment.
9 The story must include how life (plants, animals and humans) will be effected.
10 The story must include how the Earth's surface will change including land and bodies of water.
11 The story must include real science and real situations that would develop if this was a true story!

Select from the following topics to write your Science Short Story:

A The Sun has grown in size and the amount of energy we receive from the Sun has increased by 50%.

B The Earth's orbit has shifted and we are now farther away from the Sun. The energy we receive
from the Sun is now almost half of what it used to be.

C A large asteroid the size of the state of Texas has made impact on the Earth.

D A large Comet has passed between the Earth and The Moon causing gravitational forces to make
the Earth unstable. This has caused more than 300 volcanoes to erupt around the world within
   the same one week period.

E A large Comet has passed between the Earth and Moon causing the Earth's axis to change
from a 23.5 degree tilt to a 40 degree tilt.
