A Note from Mrs. Mudd

Thanks to all of you who were able to make it to our Early Start Pajama Party/Story time on Thursday evening. With the chill in the air it made for a comfortable and fun evening of stories in the library. If you have not turned in your Library card applications please do that as soon as possible. We hope that you and your child enjoy the writing kit that you were given at story time. Keep me posted on the various real life writing experience that your child enjoys.

In January we talked about the animals that Hibernate as well as Books by Jan Brett. The children added new hibernating animal names to their vocabulary. They are a hedgehog, chipmunk, badger, skunk, gopher and raccoon. Hibernating animals were in our favorite stories by Jan Brett were The Mitten and The Hat. They are learning that an author is the person who writes the stories and the illustrator is the person who draws the pictures.

Thanks to you for making our reading logs a great success!! The children love putting a circle up and watching our Book Worm grow!!!

Turn in reading logs on Friday’s J

Important Dates

February 4th-No Early Start

February 14th- Valentine card exchange- On Thursday, February 14th the children will be exchanging cards for Valentines Day. Please put your child’s name on the card. Leave the front of the envelope blank. It is easier for the children to pass out cards if their friend’s names are not on them. If your child is in the morning class send in 13 Valentine cards and if your child is in the afternoon class send in 11 cards. For a special snack that day we would like for each child to send in one cup of their favorite cereal. We will be putting it all together to make a Friendship snack. Please do not send in cereal containing peanut butter due to children in the classroom with allergies. If you have any questions please ask.
