A Note from Mrs. Mudd January 7, 2009 Happy New Year! Things are off to a great start for 2009! But let me back up just a bit to say thank you to our room mothers Michelle Slaughter and Beth Gawlik for getting our needed supplies and for pulling together our Winter Celebration! The time and energy you put into it is greatly appreciated! Also, big thanks to the parents who came to be with their child at school for this activity and for those who added a helping hand! We are starting the month off by reviewing the rules, practicing as well as encouraging our independent skills and a quick assessment of what skills the children have. See a list of the themes that will be covered this month as well as important dates and reminders. We have set some grand goals for this school year that we are carrying over into this New Year! One of those is to obtain the recognition of Classrooms of Excellence for our Dixie Early Start Classroom. Attached you will find a letter that explains this process in great detail. Please read through it and forward any question to me. Of course our main goals have been for the children to develop to their greatest potential. At our first home visit we asked you what you want your child to learn. Mrs. Carter and I will be reviewing those goals on the January 20th. This is a teacher work day and there will be no school on this day. Also on this day we will be scheduling home visit with the children/ families who joined us in late November and December. Thank you in advance for welcoming us into your home. This is just a reminder that school eye exam forms are due. If you have not taken your child to the eye doctor for their school exam please make the appointment now. Please ask if you have any questions about this requirement. Listed below are a few reminders that we need your help with. Thanks in advance for assisting us with these items. · Please continue to send your child’s back pack every day. · Please keep an extra set of clothes in your child’s backpack · Please send a note for your child after they have been absent.
