Additions to the March News
I apologize for leaving out the following information.
*The Scholastic Book order is due back March 13th
*School pictures will be next Tuesday, March 10th. If you wish to purchase a class picture please send in $10 by Tuesday in the envelope that was sent home this week or in another envelope with your child’s name and mark it group picture.
*coupon books were sent home this week. They are not free. This is a fundraiser for our school. If you do not want to sell any or purchase the one in the envelope please send it back with a note stating that you are not interested. If you will be selling more you can pick them up at school on 3/26 and 4/16. If you have any questions please let us know.
*We have begun a Spanish language program in our classroom. We watch a video 3 times a week. Watch for more information to come!
A Note from Mrs. Mudd There is a lot going on during the month of March!! The most important thing is to sign your child up for KINDERGATEN!! If your child will be 5 years of age by October 1, 2009 then they will be going on to kindergarten. Please see the information below.
Book IT! Beginners will begin this month! Your children will earn a coupon for a free personal pan pizza when they read books with their teacher at school as well as when they read at home and you write it down on their reading log. See the attached letter about this program.
Lastly, we will be having our Family Story time on March 18th in the evening from 6 to 7. I hope that you will be able to join us for this evening!
We will have a student from the University of Kentucky visiting our class room in March. She is majoring in Early Childhood Education. They will be observing the teachers and children. We are also having students in the classroom from Bryan Station High School. These students are in a program where they get to have on site job experience.

Spring Registration for ’09 Kindergarten
February 19 thru March 20th
April 13th thru May1st
Every Tuesday from June 9 to July 28, 2009
July 29 thru August 12, 2009(the first day of school)
Evening registration hours will be from 4pm to 7pm on February 24, March 10, April 14 and April 28
*All children who are moving on to Kindergarten next year must register at their home school or those who have been accepted to a Magnet school should register at that Magnet School on the above date. Even if you have received an acceptance letter to a magnet school you still need to register. I can’t stress enough that you must register your child for kindergarten at the above dates. Even though they are enrolled for Early Start, you still need to register your child for Kindergarten for next year. Please ask or call if you have any questions!!!
***Book It! Beginners***
During the month of March and April we will be participating in Book It! Beginners. Read the attached letter that explains this fun program. Parents can participate in Book IT! Beginners with us by reading with your child at home and then writing the name of the books or the amount of time read on the cutouts.
