A note from Mrs. Mudd November 7, 2008
At this time of year we often reflect on all that we are thankful for. First and foremost we are so thankful to have such a wonderful group of children to work with. They bring a smile to our faces every day!! Second, thanks to each one of you for your support!! You have gotten involved in your child’s early years of education and that is what matters most. Lastly, I would personally like to thank Mrs. Jones for her continued support as well as to Mrs. Carter for all she does to make each day special.
What exciting times we had in October! Thanks to all parents who supported our class basket that was auctioned off at the Fall Festival! It was a huge success. Also this month, the children have discovered the changes in the seasons and explored with pumpkins through math, language, science and even cooking activities. See below for themes for the month.
The children enjoyed the visit from the fire fighters on Wednesday. We will be learning more about fire safety each day. Don’t forget to change the batteries in your smoke detector since you turned back your clocks! See below for themes for the month.

School Picture Make up
Children who were not in attendance at Dixie or who were absent on this day will have their school pictures made. These pictures will be used in our school year book that will be sold at the end of the school year. You may also order pictures. School picture order forms for retakes will be coming home in a couple of weeks.
Scholastic book Order
Coming home today is a book order for November. Book orders go out on a monthly basis. If you wish to order books please return money
(check) and order form by November 14th in an envelope or baggie. Books arrive at school with in two weeks after order.
Family Story Time
The story this month is Little Blue and Little Yellow by Leo Lionni. Any family member is invited to join us for this exciting time. We will read the story together and then each child will be creating an activity that goes along with the story with their special guest! Each child will be taking home a special copy of the book!
Family Art Day
Your child will be allowed to invite one special guest to join them at school in ART Class! On this day we will be developing our creative side together! Please note the specific dates and times for the AM and PM classes. Looking forward to seeing you then!
