A Message from
the Principal...

Leslie Thomas, Principal

I have been fortunate to be a part of this community for 42 (ouch) years!!  I attended Clays Mill, Jessie Clark, and Lafayette High Schools.  I did my undergraduate work at University of Kentucky followed by a Masters Degree at Georgetown College, and then completed my Rank 1 in Administration and Supervision back at
U.K.  I began my teaching career at Linlee Elementary teaching 3rd grade, and moved to Northern Elementary where I taught 4th grade for years.  In 1992, I transferred to Clays Mill and taught 4th and 5th grades.  My principal there encouraged me to go into educational leadership, and provided me with many opportunities.  In 1997, I took the PSA position at Clays Mill and my administrative career was underway.    I came to Rosa Parks in the fall of 2000, and it was the best decision I ever made!!   I loved the classroom, and still do, but I do enjoy working with teachers and parents as well.   A positive environment that is focused on teaching and learning is priority for me.  I believe we have achieved this at Rosa Parks, and we are continuously looking for ways to improve our instructional strategies and relationships with our families.  I truly love being able to give back to this community by serving as your principal.
