What we are learning!
Spanish Language Arts:
We are reading the books you so generously donated from the book fair.
Literature is a great way to immerse the kids in the language.
English Language Arts:
We continue “Monitoring and organizing ideas and information.” This week, we
will work on self-monitoring and self-correcting. The students will work with
the genre “folktales.” We will be writing Porquois tales (stories that explain
why something happens in nature). In small groups, we are going to look at our
2 minute warning assessments and revise those. Our spelling focus will continue
to be prefixes.
Social
Studies:
We will be starting our next Social studies unit on economics after spring
break. We are going to focus on writing for the moment. We had a great trip to
Shakertown this last week and the children were able to observe not only what
life was like in the past, but get a feel for the culture of the Shakers.

measurement as well as the measurement of solids. We will be using both
standard and metric units and it will include the proper use of a ruler.
