Hello, my name is Marilynn Cunningham and I am the Principal of the School for the Creative and Performing Arts Bluegrass ie. SCAPA Bluegrass. At SCAPA, we are a community of learners. We have high expectations for all students and our community responds to these high expectations.

Goals and Expectations here at SCAPA Bluegrass:

(1) "All SCAPA students will be proficient by 2014."

(2) "At SCAPA. we put our heart into art and we put the "art" in "smart" ."

To do this,

"SCAPA stars and scholars must be able to Stand Alone when they audition, Shine Together while they are here and Brighten the World while they are performing."

I encourage all students to follow the directions listed below:

Show they are able to stand alone:

     °Personally commit to their major, minor, and academic areas.
     °Go to class prepared in both their academics and arts.
     °Follow staff directions at all times
     °Read, write and practice their art at home.

Show they are shining together:

    °Commit to working with teachers and peers toward their art and academic goals.
    °Know school expectations and follow them.
    °Always have a book to read during free time.
    °Act safely and properly on school grounds and at school performances.

Show they are brightening the world:

    °Perform willingly.
    °Respect and cooperate with everyone.
    °Know the school's mission and honor the audiences.
