Reading in May!  Students are working on reading about Medieval Times. The knights and shining armor are so interesting. We will make a castle out of cardboard thanks to the donation of the McLeans! We will be utilizing Reader’s Theater scripts concerning Knights of the Round Table and Medieval Days.

Math in April!     We will be exploring different methods of working multiplication problems such as the lattice method and partial products. Most of the children are having fun with this “new” way of multiplying without the use of a calculator!

Thank you for all the snacks during testing! We have enjoyed them and I believe it paid off for the students. They handled the testing situation very well.

Writing in May!  Students are writing their reflective letters for their portfolio. Parents are often mentioned in their reflection of how they learned reading and writing because you may have read to them as they are growing up. This is definitely a way to improve reading and writing so keep up the good work!

Students are enjoying “free” writing such as journal writing. Have you ever thought of getting a diary for your child? AG00218_[1]

 Social Studies

Students are realizing the life lead in castles. We’re finding out that it was very different! Ask your child in what ways are living in medieval times different from living today.
