Supplies Needed for Class

Paper choices - Ring Binder with ruled paper
                         Spiral Binder (make sure it has perforated pages to tear out smoothly.

Pencil choice - Cheap mechanical (preferred so students don't disrupt class sharpening pencils)

Pens - blue or black ink only, do not buy expensive pens.

Colored pencils (not markers) - Small box of 10 - 12 pencils

Calculator - Spend around $15, needs to have trig. functions and square root key.
                 Higher level math classes may require more complicated units, check with your teacher if you are scheduled for Alg. II or above.
                 Use marker to clearly write name on unit.

Pocket Folders - Needs one for each class taken. Different colors will be helpful. Don't spend more than 15 cents each.

Suggestion: Keep papers returned, notes, and handouts on the left, papers to  turn in right. At the end of each unit, take returned materials, notes and handouts (staple together and label) place in box at home. Papers will be valuable for finals at the end of each semester.

Scissors - Small with semi-pointed tips.

Ruler - Eng/metric combination, 1 ft. long, soft plastic that is difficult to crack. If student uses a ring binder select a ruler with ring holes.

Backpacks - need to have padded straps, reasonable size.

Help your student manage what they need to carry. Some students want their backpacks to be mini-lockers and they end up looking like "beasts of burden". Students are assigned lockers at the beginning of each school year.

Highlighters - Two different colors. One to underline reading with, the other to circle names, dates, and terms to remember with.
