Our Mission & Purpose

Family Resource Centers (FRCs) were created as part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act.  At the Dixie FRC, we understand that it can be difficult for students to do well in school when they and their families are faced with problems at home or within the community. 

The goal of the Family Resource Center is to meet the needs of all children (and their families) residing in the community served by Dixie.  The Center’s  primary mission is to enhance students’ abilities to succeed in school by assisting parents in promoting education at home.  This is achieved by helping children and families in meeting some of their basic needs by developing and sustaining partnerships between families and community agencies.  We work closely with parents to create a stable, healthy home environment.

Our support for families occurs in response to real problems.  We hope to develop real opportunities for parents, students, & families to improve their circumstances and expand their abilities.  Often, parents need this support to encourage their child's success in school and to recognize the importance for the whole family to reach their educational goals and individual potential.

We believe that families make a difference in a student's success and we're here to support them in this task.
