The AR program is a supplemental reading program for students in 1st-5th grades at Rosa Parks Elementary. It is designed for reading practice. The students read a book on the AR list and then take a reading practice test on the computer. We now have about 4000 AR tests (Reading Practice tests.) You will find a list of tests on our Rosa Parks web page and copies at Beaumont Public Library. Students are encouraged to take at least 2 AR tests each month but each teacher incorporates AR into his/her program differently.
This is a program to help motivate students to read more books. Many times just the challenge of taking the test on the computer is motivating, however we do offer prizes as incentives.
GRADE LEVEL GOALS:
5TH GRADERS NEED 100 POINTS
4TH GRADERS NEED 75 POINTS
3RD GRADERS NEED 50 POINTS
2ND GRADERS NEED 35 POINTS
1ST GRADERS NEED 25 POINTS
