Helpful hints

In Spanish, “i” is always pronounced like the “ee” in “meet.” In Spanish, “ll” is pronounced like a “y.”
The Spanish “h” is always silent. In Spanish, “qu” sounds like “k.”
The Spanish “z” is pronounced like the “s” in “vase.” If there is a stress mark above a vowel (é) you should stress that part of the word.
The letters “b” and “v” sound the same in Spanish.  They make a sound halfway between the two. The Spanish “j” is like the “ch” in the name of the composer Bach.
The Spanish “r” is a trilling sound made by putting your tongue behind your top teeth. ñ sounds like "ny."
